Stencil Graffiti

I don’t like graffiti – but I do like stencil graffiti – I think it’s because whoever did it had to go to the trouble of making the stencil before they went to work… The images are from different countries – Lithuania is especially rich in examples – but you have to be quick to photograph them, they have often been removed after a day or 2. Boris Karloff as Frankenstein was the first one I photographed, some time in the mid ’90s, the Jim Morrison one was in Paris in 2004 and was really the true kickstart for documenting them.
